Participate in our Adult Winter Art Contest for a chance to win a $150 art supply gift card!

The theme this Winter is "characters". It is very broad! A character can be a human, nonhuman animal, or animate object, real or fictional, personal or historical/celebrity figures. They can be original or non-original.

To submit, bring your artwork  to the Reference Desk any time between December 1st 2025 and February 15th 2026. Your work will be displayed until the conclusion of the contest.

You will fill out a submission form and leave your work with us. The submission form will include a brief 1-3 sentence description of your work as well as contact information so we know how to contact you regarding the results.

Voting will take place in person only. A ballot will be kept on the Reference Desk from February 15th - February 28th. Anyone can vote - you do not have to be a Blue Island Library resident. Artists can vote, too. They will not be prevented from voting for themselves. Each person can only vote once.

Rules:

You do not have to be a Blue Island resident to submit, but you do have to be someone who uses/visits the library.

You must be 18 or older to enter.

Only 2d art will be accepted.

Work must be clearly labeled and prepared for display.

If you have any questions, please contact our Adult Services Librarian at akarczmar@blueislandlibrary.org or (708) 388 - 1078.
