Event Details
This year, Children's will be hosting a Spirit Week to get pumped for the Summer Reading Kickoff Foam Party on Saturday, May 31 from 1-3PM. All events are all ages! Each day has a different theme, indicated below:
Sunday – CLOSED FOR MEMORIAL DAY!!!!!!!!
Monday – CLOSED FOR MEMORIAL DAY!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday – Blue Day - ALL DAY
For Blue Island! Visit the library dressed in blue AND check out a book with a blue cover. Take a photo in your outfit with your book to receive a small prize!
Wednesday – Super Hero Day - ALL DAY
Come dressed as your favorite super hero and win a comic-book themed drawstring bag. With permission, we will take your photo for social media.
Thursday – Book Character Cosplay - ALL DAY
Come dressed as your favorite book character and win a book-themed travel cup. With permission, we will take your photo for social media.
Friday – Crazy Streak - ALL DAY (we close at 5PM on Fridays)
Come check out the first book you're going to read for Summer Reading this year and get one (1) fun streak of color in your hair to remind you to keep your reading streak going all summer! (temporary spray will wash off if it comes in contact with water)
Saturday – Summer Reading Kickoff Foam Party - 1-3PM
Come sign up for the 2025 Summer Reading Program and play at our foam party! (After being in the foam, participants will be DAMP/WET and WILL NOT be allowed back inside the library. Thank you for your understanding).
